Aicha Macky é uma cineasta e ativista nascida em um bairro de classe baixa na cidade de Zínder. Formada em sociologia, ela se voltou para o documentário na Universidade Gaston Berger, no Senegal, onde dirigiu dois curtas-metragens: Moi et ma maigreur e Savoir faire le lit, que abordam a temática dos corpos e da sexualidade. Em 2016, finalizou o premiado L’arbre sans fruit, que aborda a delicada questão da infertilidade, e foi contemplada com o Alumni du Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), que lhe permitiu fazer cursos na Universidade de Nova York sobre engajamentos cívicos. Em 2017, cria sua própria produtora, sediada em Niamey.

Aicha Macky is a filmmaker and activist born in a low-class neighborhood in the city of Zínder. With a degree in sociology, she turned to documentary film at the Gaston Berger University in Senegal, where she directed two short films: Moi et ma maigreur and Savoir faire le lit, which deal with themes such as bodies and sexuality. In 2016, she finished the award-winning L’arbre sans fruit, which addresses the delicate issue of infertility, and was awarded the Alumni du Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), which allowed her to take courses at New York University on civic engagement. In 2017, she created her own production company, based in Niamey.
